I would like to
introduce myself and my company:

I provide
independent construction, pre-purchase, warranty, 3rd
party and litigation inspections for residential and
commercial properties.

I am licensed in
Virginia and Maryland

I have 30 years of
construction/inspection experience and have performed
thousands of construction inspections.

I’m a certified
combination ICC building code inspector for the required
code in the country.

I hold a BS in
Construction Engineering Technology and have memorized
the installation procedures for the parts used during
construction.

I also know the
National Association of Home Builders performance
guidelines publication and the builder’s one-year
warranty documents. These are a written set of rules and
specifications required by the builders that you don’t
know about.

I find and get
repaired the following items every day; drafty
doors and windows, heating or cooling problems, high
energy bills, cold basements,
basement/wall/window/roof leaks, plumbing leaks, squeaky
floors, cracked tile and grout, settled foundation
soils, yard ponding water, poor painting, drywall
cracks, missing insulation, leaking ductwork,
broken attic trusses, missing columns, settled footers,
cracked concrete and etc.

I’ve installed with my
hands (and inspected), windows, doors, vinyl siding, brick ,
cabinets, carpet, wood flooring, tile, appliances,
countertops, furnaces, ductwork, roofs, poured concrete,
concrete re-bar, driveways, wood framing, trim framing,
sinks, tubs, toilets, dishwashers, disposals, water tanks,
water pipes, drain pipes, soil backfill, wiring, electrical
fixtures, services and etc. I’ve read and memorized the
installation procedures for each of these products. I look
for installation defects and drawing defects when I inspect
a project and document these defects.
Worked for DC government
(June 2008 to Present) performing building code construction
inspections as a combination code inspector. I inspect
residential and commercial projects, generating reports, and
code pass and/or fail stickers and other duties required by
code compliance inspections. I use ACCELA software.
I’ve published
two how-to perform pre-drywall construction inspections, 100
page color photo books, which have also been made into
building inspection continuing education classes. I’ve
been on FOX 5 twice and ABC Good Morning America performing
building Inspections. You can see the videos and books in

I spent 13 years in Pittsburgh
as a commercial construction project foreman and
superintendent making sure all the structural, plumbing,
electrical and mechanical systems were installed correctly,
per plans, building code, on time and within budget. I can
read, correctly and quickly, all types of construction
drawings, code books, scheduling software, institute and/or
association procedures (ACI) and product installation
procedures.

providing 3rd party inspections and making sure
sub-division utilities, roads, engineered soils, engineered
lots, test boring, concrete placement/testing and
curb/gutter were built according to site plans, building
code and general good construction practices with Schnabel
Engineering and several other geo-technical companies. |
